Gregory Raupp is currently a freshman at the University of Wisconsin-Madison with an undeclared major and an MSI in the Badger Battalion. CDT Raupp grew up in New Berlin, WI and is one of four children to his parents, with two brothers and a sister. Although he is away from home for school, CDT Raupp says that he remains very close with his immediate and extended family. Throughout his early academic career, CDT Raupp attended public school in New Berlin and kept active by playing sports. "My education is very important to me and I love to learn new things."
CDT Raupp decided to pursue a career in the military during his sophomore year in high school and began researching his various options of doing so. "ROTC was the best fit for what I want, so I applied and earned a scholarship." After completing his first semester as a freshman and an MSI, CDT Raupp claims that getting to know his fellow cadets and the formalities of Army ROTC has helped to make this year very memorable thus far and will set it apart from the rest of his time with the Badger Battalion. "My most memorable ROTC experiences thus far have been the land navigation courses at FTX."
Overall CDT Raupp claims that he is really enjoying his time with the Badger Battalion and enjoys the cadets, cadre, and all the new things he has learned. When asked if he had any advice for incoming cadets, CDT Raupp had this to offer: "I would advise incoming cadets to stay physically fit and study hard." CDT Raupp is living proof of his advice as he was nominated for the Cadet of the Month Board and is currently participating in the German Armed Forces Badge competition.
When he's not donning ACUs, CDT Raupp enjoys playing sports and video games.
