Abigail Roach grew up in a small town with four sisters; 2 older and 2 younger, and her parents. She went to Lodi High School where she participated in everything from basketball to show choir and was even a lead in the musical.
For CDT Roach, college was always her plan after graduating high school. She and her sister Andrea would talk about how being in the military would be a great opportunity to serve our country while having a solid career, but Abby never thought she would be the one to serve. So she was very fortunate to learn about and join the ROTC program, which allows her to do something meaningful as well as obtain her degree. 
CDT Roach says that, "Being in the ROTC is definitely worth it; the training, experience and opportunities take you far as a leader and as an individual. It all helps build your confidence and leadership skills that you can use in any part of your life." What CDT Roach also likes about the program is that it emphasizes the importance of education and encourages making that your number one priority.
Her advice for new cadets is to balance your life and get involved. "There are times where you feel like you're in over your head with college, but you learn how to balance school, ROTC and your social life. And once you do this, you can explore other activities such as Scabbard and Blade, Color Guard and Ranger Challenge; which I highly encourage. By getting involved, you make a lot of new friends and have memories that will last forever."
CDT Roach truly believes that everything happens for a reason so she is very excited to see where this leads her in life.
Some of CDT Roach's hobbies include traveling, scrapbooking, baking, playing piano and sports, reading and listening to country music.
Interesting fact about CDT Roach: Her sister's names all start with the letter "A," (Alicia, Andrea, Abigail, Alison and Ava) Also, CDT Roach has been hypnotized 3 times.
