Sergeant First Class Richard Carlson hails from the great state of Minnesota. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in November of 1993 and attended Basic Training at Ft. Knox.
SFC Carlson has served his country in a variety of positions, both as a leader and a follower. His first duties as an NCO were in the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) as a Team Leader training and molding our country's youngest officers for combat. After being "all he could be," he moved to the 172nd SBCT and became an "Army of One," serving as Squad Leader in the frozen tundra of Fairbanks, Alaska. BRRRRRRR! After a six year tour, SFC Carlson once again found himself Air Assaulting as a SFC in the 101st Airborne Division.
SFC Carlson is currently assigned to the Badger Battalion with his duties taking him to Maranatha Baptist Bible College.
SFC Carlson spends most of his time with his wife, watching college hockey and pulling for the Minnesota Gopher sports program for victory. Have a GOPHER day!
