Sergeant First Class Thomas A. Fischer enlisted 20 Jan. 1988, and attended One Station Unit Training (OSUT) as a 13B Cannon Crewmember at Ft. Sill, OK. In addition, he is also a graduate of the 92Y Unit Supply Specialist, 31C Radio Operator/Maintainer, and 13P Automated Tactical Data Systems Specialist Military Occupational Specialties (MOS).

SFC Fischer's stateside assignments include 84th Division (1988-1991), 64 Rear Operations Center (1991-1999), 32nd BDE Headquarters (2000), 132nd Support BN (2001), B Company 2-128th INF (2002-2003), 1-121st Field Artillery BN (2003-2009), and Logistics NCO at the UW-Whitewater ROTC program (present). His stateside training locations outside of Wisconsin have included South Dakota, Texas, Virginia, Florida, and Alaska.

SFC Fischer's civilian education includes a Bachelor of the Arts (BA) from UW-Whitewater in 1994 with a major in Political Science. In 2006 he earned his Masters of Business (MBA) with a concentration in Logistics from Touro University. In addition, he has earned a State of Wisconsin Technical teaching certificate for a variety of computer/ networking curriculum.

SFC Fischer's deployments include a seven month deployment to Kuwait & Iraq for Operation Iraqi Freedom.

SFC Fischer is a graduate of the Primary Leadership Development course (PLDC), the Basic Non-Commissioned Officers course (BNCOC). SFC Fischer is also a graduate of the ARNG Retirement Counselor course, ARNG Education Counselor course, Attrition Management Counselor course, and the Property Book Unit Supply Enhance (Company & Battalion) course, . His awards include the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Ribbon, Army NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Army Overseas Service Ribbon, the Army Reserve Component Achievement Award, and the Wisconsin Emergency Service Ribbon.

SFC Fischer currently resides in Hartford with wife Kay and their two children.
