CPT Alexander Thyne, a native of Marinette, Wisconsin, was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in 1997 from the New Mexico Military Institute. He holds a BA in Public Relations with an emphasis in Marketing from Texas Tech University. He attended the Field Artillery Officers Basic Course at Fort Sill and transitioned to the Logistics Branch at Fort Lee, VA. He currently serves the Badger Battalion as the Executive Officer and MS II instructor.

CPT Thyne recently completed company command of HHC, 3-335th TSBn at Fort McCoy, WI (2008-2009). Prior to that, he served as an Assistant Professor of Military Science at University of Illinois-Chicago Fire Battalion from 2005 to 2008. His previous assignments include: 646th RSG (HHC CDR) Madison, WI; FATC (Asst. BDE S3) Fort Sill, OK; Joint Task Force Bravo (Deputy J1) Honduras; Operation Iraqi Freedom 2003-2004 (Chief of Operations); Bravo Battery, 1-78FA (XO) Fort Sill; 1-38 FA (Battery XO and BN S1) 2nd Infantry Division, Korea and 3 years in the Texas Army National Guard (1997-2000).

CPT Thyne's awards include: Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, (3rd award), Armed Forces Reserve Medal (w/M device) and Combat Action Badge.

CPT Thyne and his wife Amy live in McFarland with their two dogs, Sarge and Oscar.
