Lt. Col. Brian P. Wolhaupter is the Professor of Military Science for the Warhawk Battalion at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. He is responsible for the UW-Whitewater ROTC program's mission performance, and development and recruitment of future officers for the US Army.
Lt. Col. Wolhaupter graduated from Forest Lake High School, Forest Lake MN, in 1985. He earned a bachelor's degree in History from St. John's University, Collegeville, MN and a Master's of Business Administration in Military Management from TOURO University International. Lt. Col. Wolhaupter's military education includes the Field Artillery Officer's Basic Course and Advanced Course, the U.S. Army Combined Arms Services Staff School, the Human Resource Manager's Qualification Course and, he is a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College.
Lt. Col. Wolhaupter received his commission in 1989 through the ROTC program at St. John's University. His previous assignments include Company Fire Support Officer, Battery Direction Officer, Platoon Leader and Battalion Fire Support Officer with the 1-11th Field Artillery at Ft. Lewis, WA. He also served as an Officer Basic Course Gunnery Instructor at the US Army Field Artillery School and as a Battalion Fire Direction Officer with the 2-4th FA at Ft. Sill, OK completing seven and a half years in the Regular Army. Lt. Col. Wolhaupter entered Army National Guard in Kansas where he served as the Battalion Fire Direction Officer for the 1-127th FA. After relocating to Wisconsin he served in the 1-126th FA as the Battalion Operations Officer and the HHB Commander. At the 57th FA Brigade he served as the Liaison Officer, the Operations Officer and the Brigade S1. Upon assignment to the 1-121st Field Artillery Lt. Col. Wolhaupter served as the Battalion S3 and the Battalion Executive Officer prior to assuming command of the 1-121st FA battalion while the unit was deployed in to Kuwait and Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Lt. Col. Wolhaupter completed his commands 1st Battalion, 121st Field Artillery, Wisconsin Army National in August of 2009 and is currently assigned as the Professor of Military Science for the Army ROTC program at UW-Whitewater. Lt. Col Wolhaupter is an Active Guard and Reserve officer with the Wisconsin Army National Guard.
Lt. Col. Wolhaupter's military awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal with silver oak leave cluster, the Army Achievement Medal with oak leaf cluster, the Iraqi Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on terrorism Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal with star device, the Armed Forces Reserve Medal with "M" device, the Army Parachutist Badge, and the Combat Action Badge.
