UW-Whitewater
UW-Whitewater students have the opportunity to take Military Science classes and participate in Army ROTC on the Whitewater campus. The program falls under the umbrella of the UW-Madison Department of Military Science. However, permanent instructors live and work in Whitewater. All training, education and commissioning opportunities that are available to UW-Madison students are also available to Whitewater students.

PEGNRL 187 Military Conditioning I 1 Credit

Description: This course is designed to develop and maintain personal fitness through Military calisthenics and conditioning. Builds the leadership skills essential to the management of an effective organization physical fitness program.
LDRSHP 120 Introduction to Leadership 2 Credits

Description: An introductory study of basic skills needed to become a military officer. Basic concepts of land navigation, first aid, individual fitness, problem-solving techniques, critical thinking, understanding of equal opportunity/sexual harassment, and small unit tactics. Hands on reinforcement of these basic military skills.

Description: Advanced leadership concepts and skills are applied in actual situations commencing at an intermediate level and progressing through higher management positions. Increased emphasis on mentorship, group dynamics and management functions complements the instruction presented in LDRSHP 320. Meets 2 hours once per week.
LDRSHP 330 Land Navigation 1 Credit

Description: A study of the principles required to navigate using topographic maps. Emphasis is on developing student familiarity with geography, topography and the use of land navigation instruments, aerial photograph interpretation and concepts of map development. Instruction is complemented with practical application field trips.

Description: A continuation of the study using a military model, in the theory and application of leadership excellence. Prepares the student to be an effective both in military and civilian careers. Emphasis is on offering organizational behavior, exercising professional ethics, personnel management and compliance with national and international judicial political systems.
